Couples Retreat Resources
Preparing For Your Retreat With Dr David Helfand
After you have completed your registration for a Private Couples Retreat, please review the steps below to make sure you get the most out of your experience with me.
1. Book Flight
The Burlington International Airport (BTV) is the closest airport to my office in Vermont. Manchester-Boston Regional Airport (MHT) is an another option for a small airport nearby. If you are interested in a private jet, both BTV and MHT are good options. Finally, Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) is a further away, but has more flights daily. Although it is a longer drive, it is a very scenic route on I-93 North.
2. Reserve Lodging
Vermont is a highly desirable travel location, so please book your hotel or other accommodations as soon as possible. Scroll down to see local recommendations.
3. Online Course
The Online Couples Course is designed to give you an introduction to relationships skills and the science behind successful marriage. Please complete at least the chapter on “Connect” before attending your retreat. You will have unlimited access to the course for one year after your retreat. Click here to access the course.
4. Submit Questionnaire
Each partner must complete their own relationship questionnaire before attending the retreat. You can access your questionnaire through the client portal.
5. Consider Insurance
Due to the intensive nature of couples retreats, there are only limited slots per month. This means that our cancellation policy is strictly enforced. We highly recommend that you obtain trip insurance to cover the cost of your investment. Past clients have used www.InsureMyTrip.com, and you can also check with your local insurance agent for options.
6. Optional Brain Maps
About half of the couples that attend a private retreat schedule a brain map while they are here. This add-on service is a powerful multi-point inspection of your brain that can help you better understand how your mind works and most importantly what you can do to increase performance in the service of helping your marriage.
